First, some website news. Updated the Candy Comments page.

Second…one of the comments had a question I couldn’t answer, so I’ll post it here. Richard asked the following:

Hi, are you familiar with the NEILSONS Milk Chocolate SULTANA BAR? We demolished a 100 year old house and found this chocolate bar wrapper inside. I found your site and thought you may know of its age or history.

I tried looking for some information, but really couldn’t find any. If you know anything, leave a comment below…thanks!

Finally A Wrapper Update

Finally updated the wrapper page with a record 45 wrappers. It’s a record because it’s been so long since I did a wrapper update. I’d like to say I’ll stay on top of things going forward, but I can’t make that promise. I believe I’m up to 685 wrappers.

Hershey Threatens PA Sheriff

Been a while since I wrote a post. Just don’t have the time anymore. But couldn’t pass up this opportunity since it involves my favorite candy…Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Seems the campaign signs of Lancaster County, PA, sheriff candidate Mark Reese caught the attention of the Hershey Company due to the extreme similarities between the font the sheriff used and the font used by Hershey:

Yeah, that’s pretty bad. I’m thinking the sheriff knew what he was doing. Hershey has agreed to let him use the campaign materials already made for the upcoming primary. But if Reese wins, he’ll have to change the font. This all in the name of trademark infringement.

Baby Ruth Wrapper Contest?

I received the following question from Ryan from San Diego:

Around 1978 or 1979 there was a promo where one could mail a certain amount of Baby Ruth wrappers (I think is was Baby Ruth) to get a ring. I can’t find info on this anywhere, and really wanted to get one of those rings if I could find one. Any suggestions?

I struck out in my brief search. Anybody remember this? Leave a comment below. Thanks!

I know I don’t update much anymore. I can’t believe I haven’t scanned any new wrappers in over a year! But I did finally update the comments page. Maybe one day I’ll get around to adding more wrappers. Truth is though, I haven’t found many new and different ones and I’m not eating as much junk as I used to!

Does anyone know about an old candy called ROCK-N-ROLL by Johnson’s Chocolate? The wrapper is pink with music notes on it, with all designs in black. Ends of wrapper appear that they were twisted like a Tootsie Roll. Odd, the ingredients listed do not list chocolate! Would like to know age of wrapper and any other information. Who knows, maybe it was gum!

Just a boring post to let you know I updated the Comments Page, cleaned up the FAQ page a little, and updated the Coupon Page. I have two questions in the Comments Page that I will eventually turn into a blog posting, so you have that to look forward to!
