Laurie had already seen the Pacific Ocean and dipped her toes. I never had, so it was neat to finally see it. (And the next weekend, we were at the Jersey Shore looking at the Atlantic.) No swimming was allowed, as you can see from the sign below. The Resort had a couple of pools, including one that had a bar in it. You could swim up to the bar, have a seat on the underwater stools and drink while in the pool. We did nothing but eat and relax. It was warm, but wasn't too bad. The staff was very nice and most spoke English well. Luckily, Laurie knew a little Spanish (me? none). She was surprised at how much came back from her high school days. She had fun trying to throw in Spanish words when ordering food or talking to the staff.
One complaint we had was the choice of restaurants. They had like four restaurants, but because it was the off season (who goes to Mexico in the middle of Summer?), only one was open per night. I don't know if it's normal, but the menu at whichever restaurant was opened that night was very limited...maybe four entrees. And the service was sloooooooooooooow. The food was good, though. Instead of dealing with the slow service at one of the restaurants that we were already at, one night we ordered room service instead. Breakfast was a buffet with an omelette station, and lunch was good with your choice of a sit down lunch in an open air restaurant or hamburgers and the like by the pool.
