Niagara Falls 2001 - Day Trip To Toronto

Our vacation to Niagara Falls was to include a day trip to Toronto. At first, our plan was to go on Tuesday. But that was 9/11 and, due to the events in New York and Washington, Toronto was pretty much closed down. We decided we would go on Friday, our last day. We would get up, check out, head to Toronto and drive home from there.

We had a pretty good time. The main reason we went...well, the main reason I wanted to go...was to see the Hockey Hall Of Fame. For details about that, check out my Hockey Hall Of Fame page. We also went to the CN Tower. That was really neat. Check out their web page for all the details, but basically, it's a tall tower and Laurie and I went all the way to the top. It's hard to say whether it would be better at night or during the day. We were there when it was dark and it was neat to see the city lights from high above. Be prepared though. It's expensive...like $30 each to go all the way to the top. But we were on vacation, so why not?

We had dinner at Wayne Gretzky's Restaurant. I thought it was pretty neat. I forget what I had, but I remember it was good!! The prices weren't bad and it was cool to look around at all the Gretzky memorabilia. We stopped in the gift shop on the way out but everything was way too expensive. Other sports related things we saw include The Skydome, home of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Air Canada Centre, home of the Toronto Maple Leafs. We didn't go inside or anything, although the Skydome does offer tours.

Toronto seems like a pretty cool place, although we really didn't get to spend a lot of time there. If you want more information about Toronto, go to their Official Website.
