The Fallingwater house was built by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935 for the Kaufmann family (who started the Kaufmann Department Stores). The Kaufmann's wanted something built near the water falls that the family enjoyed so much. So Frank Lloyd Wright designed the house to be built right ON the water fall.
